SJS FR1--the latest in the EMSHIELD family of products from EMSEAL-- is featured in the "Products" section of ENR.com and in ENR (Engineering News Record) magazine--August 2010. 

The substantial innovation in this watertight, traffic durable expansion joint system is the incorporation within the body of the base product of a 1-hour, UL 2079 certified fire rating.  This means that the fire-rating is achieved without the need for fire blankets, fire barriers, or other fire blocking materials. 

Installed entirely from the deck surface and without an invasive anchors, SJS FR1 vastly simplifies installation by eliminating the need to access the underside of the slab with utility lifts to install fire blankets.
